Projects

Cybersecurity Knowledge Base (Project lead)

Personal project

Summary

Created and maintained a shared Google Drive repository containing links to software downloads, guides, troubleshooting commands, and other documentation. Aimed at improving peer learning, onboarding efficiency, and hands-on practice at Altschool Africa.

Elastic SIEM SOC Deployment & Detection Engineering
Elastic SIEM SOC Deployment & Detection Engineering

Summary

Built and configured a cloud-based SIEM using AWS and Elastic SIEM to simulate real-world attack scenarios; engineered IAM detection rules and ingested cloud telemetry for monitoring. Simulated privilege abuse and SSH-based attacks, leveraging threat intelligence (AlienVault OTX) for IOC enrichment and performing end-to-end SOC investigation and alerting.

Secure Communication and PKI lab
Secure Communication and PKI lab

School Project

Summary

Organizations rely on TLS and PKI to secure communications, but misconfigured certificates, weak keys, or poor protocols can compromise security. This project explored how secure channels are established, verified, and tested, implementing a PKI-based environment with TLS 1.3, mutual authentication, and hardened SSH, validated through traffic analysis and controlled vulnerability testing.

Log Integration
Log Integration

Summary

Many organizations use cloud-managed endpoint security platforms like Sophos Central but lack centralized SIEM visibility due to licensing or deployment constraints. This project addressed that gap by designing a practical SIEM integration that reliably extracts, validates, and analyzes Sophos security events without relying on traditional syslog or on-prem setups. This project evaluated multiple SIEM options and demonstrated integration with Wazuh Cloud to enable centralized monitoring, event analysis, dashboards, and alerting under real-world constraints.

Enterprise WAN simulation
Enterprise WAN simulation

Summary

Large organizations require structured WAN designs to securely connect multiple branches under centralized control. This project explores a real-world enterprise WAN architecture, focusing on efficient branch connectivity, scalable IP addressing, and reliable routing to reduce operational risk. Implemented a hub-and-spoke topology with centralized traffic control, incorporating network segmentation and subnetting to enhance security and reduce broadcast domains, while enabling reliable inter-branch communication and centralized service delivery.

Secure WAN Simulation
Secure WAN Simulation

Semester project

Summary

A project simulating an enterprise network with interconnected branch offices, focusing on secure WAN connectivity and access control.
